Miele Oven & Hob Repair — The Built-in Specialty Others Fear

Miele ovens and hobs are made to be built into the kitchen — which is exactly what scares ordinary technicians: extraction from kitchen units takes training, and induction needs power-electronics understanding, not ordinary wiring. Our technicians are trained on both. If your oven isn't heating, the hob won't detect pans, or the pyrolytic door locked shut — call 16062; the inspection is free.

We repair: H built-in ovens (electric, pyrolytic, steam) · KM induction, ceramic and gas hobs · grills and warming drawers.

Miele built-in oven and hob repair at home

A gas smell from the hob, or sparks and a tripping breaker with induction? Shut the gas source or breaker immediately, open windows, ignite nothing — and call 16062: safety reports take instant priority.

Common Miele Oven & Hob Faults: Symptoms & Causes

Ovens and hobs share one page because they share your kitchen — find your symptom. One fixed rule: built-in ovens and induction hobs hold high voltage even after unplugging — never open them yourself:

The oven not heating, or taking far too long

The light is on, the fan spins, but heat is weak or absent.

Causes

a heating element (top, bottom, or the ring element behind the fan) failed, a misreading temperature sensor, or a board relay.

Try safely

test different heating modes (top-only, bottom-only, fan) — one working and another not pinpoints a specific element, which confirms the diagnosis and speeds the repair. Elements are changed with genuine parts in one visit.

Induction hob not detecting the pan, or cutting out

A blinking pan symbol, a zone not heating, or the hob cutting off after seconds.

Causes

the pan itself isn't magnetic or its base isn't flat (test a magnet on it), the zone's temperature sensor, or a power board — common with Egypt's voltage swings.

Try safely

try a confirmed induction pan, dry the surface of any liquid, run a single zone only. Persisting = power-board diagnosis with a meter.

The oven door locked after pyrolytic cleaning

After a self-clean cycle the door stayed locked. That's a safety lock — the oven locks automatically while internal heat is above ~300°C.

Try safely

wait two hours for a full cool-down; the lock should release itself. If it doesn't after fully cooling, the lock motor or its sensor needs a check — don't force the door: you'll break the lock and double the cost.

Gas hob: a burner won't light, or won't stay lit

The igniter clicks but the flame won't catch, or it lights then dies when you release the knob.

Causes

burner ports clogged with grease, the thermocouple (the flame-sensing safety) coated or failed, or the safety valve.

Try safely

brush the burner crown clean once cool, dry it fully after any washing, and hold the knob a full 10 seconds after ignition. Still dying = the thermocouple — a genuine part changed in one visit.

Cracked door glass, or heavy sagging hinges

A crack in the inner or outer glass, or a door that won't seal and drops with a thud. Danger: cracked glass leaks heat and can finish cracking suddenly; an unsealed door wastes heat and lengthens cooking. The fix: genuine glass or hinges, removed and refitted properly without stressing the frame.

A loud fan noise from the oven

Air noise or flutter louder than usual. The cooling fan (which protects your kitchen fronts from heat) or the hot-air fan has grease build-up and lost balance.

Try safely

only observe when it happens (during heating or constantly). Metallic sounds or steady vibration = fan and bearing check before it stops altogether.

5 Technician Tips That Extend Your Miele Oven & Hob's Life

  1. 1Run pyrolytic cleaning regularly (every month or two by use) — years of grease then one brutal cycle strains the elements and the lock.
  2. 2Induction is voltage-sensitive: a kitchen stabilizer is an investment protecting boards worth thousands — especially in fluctuation-prone areas.
  3. 3Use flat, magnetic-based pans on induction — a warped base makes the sensor cut in and out, straining the board.
  4. 4Brush gas burners clean once cool — and dry the crown fully after washing: water in the ports is the top cause of a flame that won't hold.
  5. 5No aluminium foil on the oven floor — it reflects heat onto the lower element, burns it out and ruins the enamel.

Miele Oven & Hob Repair FAQ

What is the Miele oven service number?

The short number 16062, 24/7 across all governorates — or WhatsApp the model and fault to 01050887010. Gas-smell and spark reports take instant priority.

The oven is built into the kitchen — won't extraction damage the wood?

Precisely our specialty: our technicians extract Miele ovens and hobs from kitchen units with dedicated tools and refit them exactly — no scratched wood, no stressed countertop. Extraction and refitting are part of the service, not hidden extra fees.

The door locked after self-cleaning — is that a fault?

Not necessarily — pyrolysis locks the door automatically while heat is above ~300°C and releases it after a full cool-down (about two hours). If it stays locked after cooling, the lock motor or sensor needs a check — and don't force the door.

My induction glass cracked — replaceable, or is the hob finished?

Replaceable — genuine Miele hob glass is available for most models, fitted with the hob extracted from the countertop. Stop using it immediately: a crack plus liquids plus heat is a real electrical hazard.

One zone dead and the rest fine — why?

On induction: usually that zone's power board or sensor — boards are divided by zones. On ceramic: the heating element itself. On gas: the thermocouple or valve. Precise diagnosis with a meter; repair usually in one visit.

How much does the repair cost?

The inspection is free and the full final price (parts + labour + extraction and refitting) is stated before any work — with a written 6-month warranty on the repair and part.
