Miele Dryer Repair — Heat-Pump Specialists, Not Just Electricians

A Miele dryer isn't a washer clone — it carries a complete refrigeration system inside (the heat pump) and humidity sensors measuring dryness moment by moment. Whoever opens it must understand cooling and electricity together — a rare combination. If your dryer takes twice as long, leaves laundry damp, or the water-container light won't go off — call 16062; the inspection is free.

We repair: T1 heat-pump dryers (TWA / TWB / TCA and up) · older condenser models · all 7–9 kg capacities.

Common Miele Dryer Faults: Symptoms, Causes & What You Can Try

Heat-pump dryers are brilliant at saving electricity — but sensitive to lint and dust: most reports trace to filters not cleaned regularly rather than real failures. Walk the list in order — and photograph any F code on the display and WhatsApp it with the model:

Drying became very slow, or laundry comes out half-dry

The #1 cause by far: the filter system is clogged — the double lint filter in the door, and the plinth filter in front of the heat exchanger. Lint that slips past them builds on the exchanger itself and chokes the heat pump.

Try safely

clean the door filters after every load, and wash the plinth filter with its sponge under running water — dry it fully before refitting. Still slow = the exchanger needs a deep clean with our equipment, or the heat-pump circuit needs a check.

The 'empty water container' light is on — but it's already empty

Condensate is pumped up to the container by a small pump — if it tires or its tube clogs with lint, the system thinks water isn't moving and halts drying.

Try safely

refit the container firmly until it seats fully, and clean the plinth filter. Persisting = condensate pump and sensor check — a common part we carry ready.

Running, but the drum isn't turning

The belt snapped or slipped (most common), the tension pulley weakened, or the drum bearings.

Try safely

unplug and turn the drum by hand — too free = snapped belt; heavy and squealing = bearings. Both changed with genuine parts in one visit.

Stops mid-program, or completely dead

Causes

the door lock (needs a firm click), dirty humidity sensors giving a false 'already dry' reading, overheat protection tripping (clogged filters), or electronics.

Try safely

close the door firmly, clean all filters, wipe the humidity sensor strips inside the drum with diluted white vinegar, unplug 10 minutes and restart. Persisting = technician diagnosis.

Excess heat or a hot cabinet

Heat finding no exit: clogged filters and exchanger, poor room ventilation, or a heat-pump circuit problem.

Try safely

clean all filters, leave clearance around the machine, ventilate the room. Persisting excess heat = unplug and call — sustained overheating eats the life of everything inside.

Clicking or unusual humming

A coin or button loose in the drum or its seams, a humming tension pulley, a worn belt, or the heat-pump fan brushing accumulated lint.

Try safely

empty and inspect the drum; note whether the sound tracks rotation. Regular mechanical sounds = belt, pulleys and bearings check before the fault grows.

We Repair Every Miele Dryer Type

  • T1 heat-pump dryers: TWA, TWB, TCA and up — the energy-saving generation with EcoDry and the honeycomb drum; the most common in Egypt.
  • Older condenser models (T Classic): traditional heating element — still running in many homes, parts available.
  • WT washer-dryers: their drying system has the same specialists — one number covers it.
  • Miele's special features: PerfectDry limescale-aware sensing and FragranceDos — repaired and calibrated.

How Our Miele Dryer Service Works

  1. 1

Call 16062 or WhatsApp the model and fault — mention any code on the display.

  2. 2

A heat-pump specialist arrives — not an ordinary electrician: the system involves refrigeration, pressure and sensors.

  3. 3

A full check (filters, exchanger, condensate pump, sensors, belt) and the final price announced before any work — free inspection.

  4. 4

Repair with genuine parts, a full drying-program test in front of you, an invoice and a written 6-month warranty.

5 Technician Tips That Extend Your Miele Dryer's Life

  1. 1Clean the double lint filter after every load — not weekly: the single most important heat-pump habit; neglect sends lint to the heat exchanger.
  2. 2Wash the plinth filter under running water monthly and dry it fully before refitting — a damp filter clogs faster.
  3. 3Wipe the humidity sensor strips inside the drum with diluted white vinegar every two months — scale and softener film make them misread and stop drying early.
  4. 4Spin laundry well in the washer first (1200+ rpm) — dripping laundry doubles drying time and strains the system.
  5. 5Don't exceed the load rating on the door — overloading lengthens programs and heats the motor and exchanger.

Miele Dryer Repair FAQ

What is the Miele dryer service number in Egypt?

The short number 16062, 24/7 across all governorates — or WhatsApp the model and fault to 01050887010 for a free initial diagnosis.

The dryer takes very long — fault or normal?

A heat-pump dryer is naturally a bit slower than an old resistive one — but if the time grew beyond your usual, that's not normal: 90% of cases are lint-clogged filters or exchanger. Clean all filters and retry — persisting slowness means the exchanger needs our deep clean.

The water-container light is on and the container is empty — what's going on?

Condensate moves to the container by a pump — the light comes on when the system senses no flow: a tired pump, a lint-clogged tube, or a container not seated. Refit the container properly and clean the plinth filter — persisting means a pump check; we carry it ready.

Does the dryer's heat pump have 'gas' like a fridge? Can it be recharged?

Yes — the heat pump is a sealed refrigeration circuit with a compressor and refrigerant, exactly like a fridge. A leak or weakness needs a refrigeration technician with welding and charging equipment — precisely the combination we have: technicians who understand cooling and electricity together.

Do you also repair washer-dryers?

Yes — WT washer-dryers have their own specialists with us, and their drying faults (heater, sensors, condensation) carry the same warranty. Call with the model and the right technician comes.

How much does a Miele dryer repair cost?

The inspection is always free and the complete final price is stated before any work — decline and you pay nothing. Repair and part under a written 6-month warranty.
